Egg Decorating

As a little diversion from the normal post for me, here is a picture of some egg decorating I did last weekend. A friend of mine decorates some beautiful eggs and came over to my house to teach me how. This is a really low-tech craft but I love the result. Wax is used to draw the design onto the egg. It's a special kind of dye that is used to color the egg. You dye starting with the lightest color and working your way to the darkest color, all the while covering the areas with wax that you want to keep a current color. It was hard for me to wrap my head around that concept but I think I like the results. The most exciting part of the project is melting all the wax at the end to reveal your final design.

Great work. I like how you branch out and use your skills in different areas. Looks like lots of fun!
